Since 1843,

the Sisters of Providence have been following in the footsteps of their foundress, Émilie Tavernier-Gamelin, in an effort to help the poor, sick and marginalized.

There are different ways to engage with the Providence family: become a volunteer, friend, associate, or sister.

Become a volunteer

You can experience compassion and solidarity with the Sisters of Providence by becoming a volunteer based on your abilities and availability.

Since their inception, the Sisters of Providence have worked alongside lay people inspired by the message of sisterhood and compassion imparted by Émilie Tavernier-Gamelin.

Our works

Since 1843,

the Sisters of Providence have founded over a hundred institutions in Quebec, and opened homes that address needs in the areas of health, education and support for the most destitute in Canada and abroad.
